A murder case has been filed accusing former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and six others, including the AL general secretary, former home minister, and the former police IGP, reports The Daily Star. The case was filed with the Court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury, by Amir Hamza Shatil, a resident of Mohammadpur, over the death of a grocery shop owner Abu Sayeed in police firing in Dhaka's Mohammadpur area on 19 July.
The others accused in the case are: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former inspector general of police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, former DB chief Harun Or Rashid, former DMP commissioner Habibur Rahman, and former DMP joint commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarker.
